„Boys like jazz and I like cakes“, is the fitting way Jazz Cakes is introduced by its frontwoman and singer Lucie Víšková. Jazz trio comprising of vocalist, bassist and guitarist comes from Karlovy Vary region and plays jazz standards and other genres. JazzCakes like to incorporate other popular genres to present well known hits in new original arranges. You may bump into JazzCakes at festivals, company parties, balls and other events, either in classic trio setting, expanded setting with drums or as JazzCakes mini vocal and guitar duo.

Honza Horych

 Jazz Guitar

Jazz music lover from early age helplessly fell with jazz guitar after listening to a Joe Pass record. He participated in several student bands and projects in Karlovy Vary, where he also studied guitar and jazz improvisation at Karlovy Vary School of music. Despite momentary weakness and succumbing to temptation of non-musician life at Faculty of law, Charles university, he does his most to actively play jazz music and be a part of regional music enviroment. He’s a honorary chairman of the fanclub of Jakub Vohnout.

Lucie Víšková

Singer, banana, ukulele

Graduated at Prague conservatoire (popular music vocals) and Charles University (media studies). In 2017 she started to perform with Big Band Ústřední hudby AČR, and she also performed or performs with Jakub Smolík, Vladimír Hron and various bands and orchestras (Big band Karlovy Vary, Back Side Big Band, J. J. Jazzmen, cimbálová muzika Studánka Praha and others). She was a guest of Czech radio Big Band in 2012 and performed as a soloist with Václav Hybš Orchestra during their 2013 Christmas tour. She works as a teacher of popular music vocals and piano at Antonín Dvořák’s school of music in Karlovy Vary.

Jakub Vohnout

Double bass player

Played the bass guitar since high school and participated in several non-professional and semi-professional band and orchestras among various genres of music. In spring of 2016 surrendered to long-term pressure of his friend and colleague Honza Horych and bought a double bass. A year later enrolled at Conservatory Pilsen to study double bass and at the same time started to work as a music teacher at school of music in Teplá and Mariánské Lázně. His free time interests include graphic design, participation in local culture club Švihák and he is also one of the main organizers of Jazzové lázně festival in Mariánské lázně.
